Getting your child set up on The Awkward Social takes a few simple steps — and includes a 7-day free trial, so you can see how it works before you’re charged anything. Here’s exactly what to expect.
Step 1 — Fill in the signup form
Tell us a bit about you and your child: your name, email, phone number, and your child’s first name and age.
Step 2 — Verify your ID
After submitting the form, we’ll email you a secure link to upload a photo of your ID (passport, UK driving licence, or national ID card). This confirms you’re the parent or guardian, and it’s the only way we ask for this — we’ll never request it any other way.
Your ID is reviewed once by a trained, DBS-checked member of our team and then deleted. We never store the document itself.
Step 3 — A quick call
We’ll be in touch to arrange a short video call to confirm your identity and talk through what The Awkward Social is about.
Step 4 — Payment
Once everything’s confirmed, we’ll send you a secure payment link to start your 7-day free trial. You won’t be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before then.
We’ll only ever send this link after your ID has been verified — never before.
Step 5 — You're in
As soon as payment is confirmed, your child’s account is activated and we’ll send next steps for getting started.
